Job Description

The Senior Accountant is responsible for a wide range of accounting functions, including accounts receivable, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial analysis. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in accounting, particularly within a government contracting environment, and will play a key role in maintaining financial accuracy and supporting compliance efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage accounts receivable activities, including invoicing, tracking, and collections
  • Prepare cash forecasts to support financial planning and liquidity management
  • Perform bank and order reconciliations, resolving discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Process inter-company invoicing and ensure accurate documentation
  • Maintain and process sales commissions
  • Manage sales order entries and related billing functions
  • Record and post journal entries to the general ledger
  • Compile and analyze financial information to prepare accurate ledger entries and document business transactions
  • Allocate expenditures, encumbrances, receipts, and receivables based on established schedules
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with GAAP and internal company procedures
  • Provide backup support for other accounting functions as needed

Qualifications -

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, including direct experience in a government contracting environment
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
  • High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Starting Salary Range $95K - $120K
